We collected a few facts from an article in Reader’s Digest that you may not know!

  • Veterans Day didn’t become a federal holiday until 1938.
  • Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day, it wasn’t until President Eisenhower changed the name in 1954 to honor all veterans as opposed to just those in World War I.
  • National K9 Veterans Day is March 13.
  • As of 2021, there were around 19 million U.S veterans according to the Department of Veterans affairs.
